KMobileTools KMobileTools
KDE software for mobile phones management. In the current (and still unreleased) version, la 0.5, KMobileTools can read and write the phonebook, import and export to the KDE addressbook or to file, read mobile phone calendar, read, write and send SMS, and save them to KMail as backup. It can also detect automatically mobile phones with a handy wizard, and remember settings even when you change connection type (for instance from usb to bluetooth), setup bluetooth parameters, and much more...
Obiviously not every mobile phone can be supported 100%, so some features can be unavailiable (for instance, calendar support is only for Motorola phones, currently). The best supported phones are "old style" Motorola), like C650.
Screenshots updated of version 0.5 are availiable here.

Amarok Amarok
Amarok is probably the best audio player availiable on GNU/Linux and UNIX platforms, and probably on other systems too (but i have to admit that i don't know too much software on other platforms.). It was elected as audio application of the year 2005 from LinuxQuestions.org.
I didn't wrote it.. anyway, i contributed by writing the sidebar plugin for Konqueror, and writing some DCOP calls.

CheckCalls CheckCalls
Small lightweight daemon based on KMobileTools code, it doesn't need any external library like QT o KDE, wrote in C++. It's main purpose is to check lastest incoming calls on a mobile phone, and to do different actions basing on the last number.

MPlayerThumbs MPlayerThumbs
It's a thumbnail generator for video files, different from the one shipped with KDE.
The standard one uses xine and arts, while my mplayerthumbs uses instead MPlayer. This can offers a lot of advantages: first of all you can avoid depending on arts (that seems to be deprecated by a lot of users) and also on x86_64 platforms (amd64 and intel 64bit) you can use a 32bit mplayer, which can load win32codecs, and so generate thumbnails also for files not supported by xine at 64bits.
In the newest version it also uses a more smart algorithm to select the frame to show, in many cases more reliable than the arts-xine thumbnail generator.
Following this link you will find a 3rd party patched version with some nicer strips in the thumbnail.
